A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Content

GravityWard is a 3D physics puzzle-platformer where you maneuver and solve puzzles by changing the direction of gravity.

This is a prototype with only 3 levels and no audio. The most challenging part of developing this game has been designing the levels, so I welcome any feedback or ideas regarding the current and new levels.

Controls

  • Movement: 'WASD' or Arrow keys
  • Interact (buttons, boxes, etc.): 'E'

Debug Controls: In the case that the puzzles are too difficult, there are controls to manually change gravity. This way anyone can see everything the levels have to offer. This feature is only intended for the prototype jam version.

  • Hold 'G' to use a gravity debug control.
  • Gravity to red walls: 'I'
  • Gravity to yellow walls: 'K'
  • Gravity to blue walls: 'J'
  • Gravity to cyan walls: 'L'
  • Gravity to grey walls: 'O'
  • Gravity to white walls: 'U'

Cracks (a.k.a. known bugs)

  • Texturing shader does not work at build time stripping all objects of their texture and lighting.
  • Walking into a wall can get you stuck in the wall (moving away from the wall can dislodge you pretty consistently).

Hullo! I'll be playing Gravity Ward tomorrow on stream along with several other games from the 8 Bits to Infinity Jam at 3:30pm EST. I'll be talking about any interesting design decisions as I play, and suggesting improvements if any come to mind. Please feel free to join me live, it'll be extra fun to chat together about your game while playing it :)

I enjoyed the stream, thanks for playing and for the ideas!

Thanks a bunch for hanging out! I've followed you on itch so I'll keep an eye out for updates ;)
